Floating Timber floors refer to any flooring surface that does not need to be attached to the sub-floor beneath it. This makes installation relatively easy. Floating timber flooring is useful when clients want an acoustically quiet room that absorbs footsteps and other noise. Thus they are useful for dance-floors, music rooms or even home theatres. Floating timber floors are not advisable in areas that are likely to get wet, though short term spillage is not really a problem. Laminate flooring is often installed as a floating floor.
